Engaging Lee Goldsworthy to run our Engineering Strategy Review has been an exceptional experience. His professionalism throughout the engagement was outstanding, from the initial discovery sessions through to the final debrief. What stood out most was his depth of AI engineering expertise, he brings a genuinely current, deep understanding of how AI and agentic development are reshaping software teams, and applied that lens with real insight.
Lee gave us a clear, well-structured view of where Loop Logics stands today, and backed it up with a thoughtful, prioritized set of recommendations to support our next phase of growth. I'd recommend him without hesitation to any leadership team that wants a rigorous, technically credible read on where they stand and what to do next.
Lee brings a rare combination of technical depth, commercial understanding, and the ability to make AI practical. In a space where there is a lot of noise and hype, I found that Lee stood out for his thoughtful and grounded approach.
He worked with our team to quickly accelerate our ability to use AI effectively and responsibly. The feedback was exceptional, with people walking away with practical ideas, a much clearer understanding of what is possible, and how to apply AI safely in their work.
What impressed me most was Lee's ability to bridge the gap between technology and business. He could go deep with our engineering team and earn their respect through his technical credibility, while also keeping the conversation anchored in business value and real-world outcomes.
I would highly recommend Lee to any organisation looking to accelerate their journey with AI.
I've had the pleasure of working closely with Lee in his role as Fractional CTO at Paperly, and it's hard to articulate the impact he's had on our business.
Lee is one of those rare technology leaders who seamlessly blends strategic thinking with deep technical expertise. He's been instrumental in helping us define and sharpen our product and engineering vision, bringing a level of clarity and structure that has elevated every conversation about our roadmap, architecture and everything technical.
Beyond his technical acumen, Lee brings a calm, thoughtful presence to the table. He has an incredible ability to distill complex challenges into actionable plans, and he's always several steps ahead.
Simply put, Lee is a force multiplier and incredible asset. He makes the people around him better, and his contributions to Paperly have been invaluable. I'd highly recommend him to any organisation looking for a strategic, visionary, and genuinely collaborative technology leader.
Hi Lee,
I just wanted to say a huge thanks for the workshops you ran for our team.
You took us from having a team with massively varying expertise in Agentic Engineering to establishing a consistent understanding and shared language.
The team are very excited to go on the journey to L4 together.
Thanks, Steven.
Hi Lee,
It was an absolute pleasure to have you join us on Tuesday and lead the workshop. All the engineers that I spoke with mentioned how informative they found the session. General sentiments were that it was really well reasoned and thought out, and aspirational but with a solid grounding in reality. I think in particular it was really insightful and applicable for a company like us at our stage.
I think the true litmus test for any session is whether anything productive comes out of it. You'll be glad to know that we saw great examples of AI application during our build day on Wednesday, and I think this really kickstarted our thinking around what's possible and how we can apply it.
I really appreciate you both coming out, and I look forward to connecting with you more in the future.
I've had the opportunity to work with Lee over the past year and have consistently been impressed by his ability to rapidly understand complex problems and provide pragmatic, commercially-minded advice.
What stands out most is Lee's ability to see both the technical and organisational dimensions of a challenge. He brings a rare combination of deep technology knowledge, strategic thinking and practical execution, helping founders and leadership teams navigate difficult decisions with clarity and confidence. Lee also has a knack for identifying second-order implications that others miss, which makes his advice particularly valuable when navigating periods of rapid technological change.
Lee is also generous with his time, candid in his feedback and genuinely invested in helping others succeed.
I would have no hesitation recommending Lee to organisations looking for an experienced technology leader, advisor or fractional CTO.
Lee is one of those rare technical advisors who genuinely understands that you're building a business, not just a product. He brought deep infrastructure and AI expertise while keeping an eye on what actually moves the needle commercially — and was also conscious of our business and where we are at on our journey.
I had the privilege of working with Lee at Discovery Alert, where he tackled a steep learning curve head-on for me. His ability to rapidly absorb complex information in an entirely new industry was nothing short of outstanding.
Lee not only grasped the business value of our technology but also pinpointed the technical gaps that needed to be addressed. As a non-technical founder, I found his guidance invaluable, he broke down our architecture in a way I could truly grasp, prioritising what was truly urgent while giving clarity on what could wait.
The best thing about working with Lee was that he could switch gears, from being the professional figure head you need to turning things into fun but productive conversations like a mate. A culture I value where I work, because work should be fun, not painful.
If you're looking for a fractional CTO, Lee's an honest and top bloke all round. I gained a lot of technical value from him amongst other things.
Lee has been a huge support on our journey, from technical advice and strategy through to helping us find great people. What stands out with Lee is that he brings clarity, ensures decisions are well-considered, and helps us move forward with confidence.
Lee truly cares about helping startups succeed and is a huge asset to the WA startup community, and I couldn't recommend him highly enough to anyone looking for a trusted partner in their journey.
